Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who can use Camp Olivet?

A: Camp Olivet is available for individuals, families, and organizations holding special events, subject to prior application and Board approval. In alignment with the Olivet Foundation’s mission, use of the grounds must support religious, charitable, or educational purposes designed for the betterment of mankind and the welfare of children. To check availability and apply, please submit our Use of Facilities request.

Q: How much does it cost to use camp?

A: There is no set fee to use Camp Olivet. We operate entirely as a non-profit ministry and do not charge groups for facility use. However, voluntary donations are essential to help cover utilities, maintenance, and facility upkeep. Groups often ask for a suggested amount; while any contribution is entirely up to you and the value of your experience. Donate here!

Q: When are check-in and check-out times?

A: Check-in and check-out times vary based on the type of reservation:

  • Week-long Camps: Check-in is typically Saturday at 12:00 PM (noon), and check-out is the following Saturday at 12:00 PM (noon).
  • Weekend Retreats: Check-in generally begins anytime on Friday, with check-out concluding on Sunday.

Specific arrival and departure times must be coordinated with and confirmed by the Caretaker prior to your event.

Q: Can I place a memorial on the Camp Olivet grounds?

A: Yes. Camp Olivet permits memorials in the form of planted trees only. Memorial trees require prior approval from the Caretaker and Board of Directors, must be at least 10 feet tall, and must be professionally planted by a nursery at the donor's expense. The Caretaker will determine the planting location, and plaques or nameplates are not permitted.

As an alternative, a Memorial Gift may be made to The Olivet Foundation, Inc. in honor or memory of an individual.

Q: What should be included on our event schedule, and when is it due?

A: Please provide a daily schedule indicating the specific times and campus locations your group will occupy so grounds maintenance and mowing can be planned without disruptions. You will hand this schedule directly to the Caretaker during your entrance walkthrough upon arrival.

Q: Am I required to provide first-aid kits during our stay?

A: Yes. Under Indiana Administrative Code (410 IAC 6-7.2-19), camps must maintain compliant, sanitary first-aid kits accessible across all active program and food service areas. A complete list of all 23 mandated items and specifications can be found here: View Indiana State First Aid Checklist

Q: What should I do when I arrive, and do I need to meet with the Caretaker?

A: When you arrive at Camp Olivet, please call or text the Caretaker (phone number listed on your Director Portal) to let them know you are on-site, then feel free to begin moving in and setting up. You will need to meet with the Caretaker upon your arrival for an Entrance Walkthrough (a quick joint inspection to confirm the grounds and facilities are ready for your camp). During this walkthrough, you will submit your event schedule. If you have not finalized your walkthrough time, please reach out to the Caretaker as soon as possible.

Q: What should I do if something is broken or needs repair?

A: Contact the Caretaker immediately via phone or text (number listed on your Director Portal) to report any facility issues or pre-existing damage noticed upon arrival or throughout your stay.

Q: What are our check-out and cleaning responsibilities?

A: Groups must complete all cleaning tasks outlined in the Cleaning Protocol Checklist available on the Camp Director Portal. Please help us maintain the grounds by leaving it better than you found it, and notify the Caretaker when you are ready for the departure walkthrough.

Q: When and how do I complete the Exit Walk-Through?

A: After completing the Cleaning Protocol Checklist meet with the Caretaker to conduct the Exit Walk-Through and confirm the facilities are ready for the next group.
